I worked for the IBM Corporation in Production Control, Materials Management, Computer Operations, Network Support, Technical Marketing Support, and as a Local Area Network Product Specialist for the IBM National Support Center. I resigned from IBM to manage the IT Technical Support Department for the Cary location of Merisel Inc. My department was responsible for the installation and maintenance of multiple server platforms, as well as desktop support. The telecommunications services and support function for the Merisel Call Center was also included in my responsibilities. I enjoyed the combined IT and Telecommunications environment and I was recruited to assist PPD (Pharmaceutical Product Development, Inc.) in the creation of a call center function for their RTP location. After creating a small call center for PPD, I accepted their offer to become the Telecommunications Support Manager for the RTP location. This involved the coordination, installation and support of the corporate telecommunications network, and the creation of major call centers for their RTP and Wilmington locations. I also assisted with the creation of smaller call centers in Austin, Texas and Nuremburg, Germany. In 2001, I saw the opportunity to use my skills to develop a startup Telecommunications and Network Support company, that was registered and incorporated in North Carolina as “Lantech Communications, LLC.”. At Lantech Communications, LLC., I am a Telecommunications and Network Support Engineer and Project Manager. My duties include vendor relations, sales support, project design and estimation, customer presentations, equipment installations and technical support. I plan to continue to develop my business and organizational development skills while maintaining my expertise with cutting edge technology.
