Marty Hauser is a healthcare innovator and leader with 40 years of healthcare experience as an executive creating transformational success and growth for hospitals, health insurance plans, and health systems. As the founder and former Chief Executive Officer of SummaCare, Marty led the organization from its inception to one of the most highly regarded and innovation health insurance plans in the country.Marty also served as the first Chief Government Relations Officer for Summa Health System where he assumed responsibility for all government relations and advocacy activity for one of the largest integrated health systems in Ohio.Under Marty’s leadership, SummaCare grew to include more than 250,000 members. SummaCare provided self-funded, fully insured commercial, and individual products, as well as, Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans. Through its TPA, Apex Benefits Services, SummaCare expanded its services to support health systems and ACOs in many states outside of Ohio. Marty recently retired as Vice President, Strategic Accounts for ExactCare where he was responsible for developing and coordinating execution of growth strategies with health plans, PBMs, ACOs and other organizations focused on transforming healthcare.Currently, as a partner of the CEO Advisory Network, Marty serves as the Director & Facilitator of the CEO HealthCare Roundtable, a unique program for hospital and health system presidents and CEOs to meet, share and discuss challenges and opportunities impacting their organization. Marty is active in the community serving as a board member of the Akron Community Foundation; The Sisler McFawn Foundation; Peg's Foundation, Faithful Servants Care Center and others.Marty is a sought-out speaker on the topics of leadership, integrated health delivery, and the value of provider sponsored plans. Marty also spent more than twelve years teaching in the Baldwin Wallace College Healthcare MBA program.
