Assisted in the development and coordination of marketing and public relations for the Symphony. Coordinated lectures, presentations, workshops, and musical performances at local schools, businesses, and community organizations. Oversaw the South Bend Symphony’s Education Programs, using creativity and innovation in developing new programs to incorporate current educational and technological initiatives and cultivated new partnerships that reflect a broad spectrum of community and educational interests. Prepared operating budgets and forecasts for financial functions, monitor revenues, and expenses against approved budget. Revamped segments of the Education and Outreach Programs, resulting in a 70% increase in participation, while also increasing our impact on underserved populations. Conceived and instituted a “Beer, Brats, and Beethoven” concert during the 2004-2005 Season. By building relationships with the non-traditional media outlets, we created a unique event which proved to be the second-highest selling Masterworks Concert of the Season, and has been replicated by a number of orchestras across the country. Worked with other nonprofits and local artists to create Art Beat, a festival that showcases the work of local visual, performing, and culinary artists. Art Beat has grown to become signature art and cultural event in the region, attracting over 10,000 each year.
