Xpression DeveloperNfu Mutual Dec 2006 - Apr 2010I started at NFU Mutual as an xPression developer working on the implementation of customised claims documents. I quickly became the team leader on the project side of the print team working on the STEP project which was to ultimately cover the implementation of over 650 xPression documents for 11 insurance products. The highlights of my work at NFUM have been:Β· Technical team lead for a total of 19 developers, business and analysts and unit testers.Β· Being awarded the STEP star award for contribution to the project.Β· Implementation of xPression version 3.0Β· Implementation of online user report manipulation utlising xResponse.Β· Implementation of work in progress functionality with version 3.0Β· Successful implementation of 11 insurance products documentation to schedule.Β· Creation of customised insurance documentation using xDesignΒ· Support and customisation of six xPression environments.Β· Analysis and support of business requirements and procedures for the generation of documents.Β· Creation of detailed design specifications for underwriting and claims documents.My role at NFU Mutual was both as a technical team leader but also as a business analyst and creator of customised insurance documentation. -
Ca-View & Deliver AnalystRoyal Bank Of Scotland Oct 2001 - Dec 2006My work as an analyst at RBS covered several major projects linked to the distribution and management of internal reports and fiche output. It also dealt with the associated procedures and software applications to support this. These projects were as follows:β’ Conversion of Natwest Bank mainframe reporting systems to the RBS model utilising CA-View and CA-Deliver. β’ Migration of RBS and Natwest internal reports to softcopy viewing utilising CA-View. This project had estimated savings of Β£3.4M per annum and approx 35 miles of paper savings per day. This projects was a finalist in the British Computer Society Awards 2006 and the IM2005 Awards.β’ Migration of RBA and Natwest Fiche output to softcopy viewing utilising CA-View. This project had estimated savings of Β£1.2M per annum.β’ Conversion of First Active and Ulster Bank reporting systems to the RBS model using CA-View and CA-Deliver.β’ Implementation of two output management centres for Ulster Bankβ’ Migration of First Active CA-Despatch data to CA-DeliverAll of these projects entailed detailed analysis of the business reporting requirements linked with the technical aspects of implementing viewing of these reports online and the distribution of those reports needed in hardcopy. -

These included a user driven form design based system, a corporate outbound fax system for Lotus Notes and AFP generated output. Distributed mainframe printing of AFP and SCS data via TCP/IP to Multi Function Devices utilising the Blue Server software package. I also continued to support the creation of AFP documents using PPFA and OGL and the document management products supported by the team. -

I also worked on specific business orientated projects including the the implementation of payslips and finance invoices using the document creation system Documerge. The replacement of Xerox XES 4046 printers with Lexmark PCL4 devices for application generated letters. The implementation of a global vision standard for mainframe and lan based customer documentation and the centralisation of region based typing pool output using AmiPro and then later Microsoft Word macros in conjunction with PSF/2. -

I was also the OA support for the cheque production application and the mainframe housekeeping system. I was promoted to a senior OA and worked in the automations team where we implemented and supported CA-TLMS, SAR and Express, Jobtrac and CA-OPS/MVS.
