In 2006 I was deployed with my regiment the Household Cavalry to Afghanistan on a 6 month tour, 6 weeks in my life changed.We were on a mission in a group of small armoured tanks,as we approached in single file I was the middle tank.The village was built up with high walls, we entered the village and a improvised explosive device was set off, Taliban had surrounded us, my tank was destroyed and the 3 guys in with me were killed.After being shot with rocket grenades I was engulfed in flames, however I managed to get myself out of the tank, I put myself out and was shot twice getting to cover, I went into a coma for months.With 75% burns and a complex break to my femur I endured years of operations and rehabilitation. Eventually it hit me and PTSD took me to a deep pit.BUT with my family around me and motorsport I got myself out on the right path. We have progressed from team endurance kart racing to team endurance car racing. Our aim is to show other disabled or those suffering mentally in some way that there is light at the end of the tunnel.I have been there and motorsport gave my focus and ambition back and made me push myself.We've started our race season with blistering success.To enable us to keep showing what we are made of and to reach our goal of being the first inured veterans to compete in the world famous Le Mans 24hr!!! We need support, we need sponsors. We want to work together with companies or individuals and show what we are about.
