The position of IT Infrastructure Data Center Server Manager has the following responsibilities: • Accountable for all internal IT compute and storage consumption across Quest including:o Data Center infrastructure and related vendor management:• Physical infrastructure, Azure, AWS, Google cloud services• Backup and DR services• Power, access, capacity management and planning • Responsible for the day to day operations, management and reporting of the global IT Infrastructure Data Center server team, which is currently composed of 9 direct reports. o Specific Team management related responsibilities include:• IT Infrastructure Data Center Server team case management, and operational reporting to the CIO• The initiation, management, and execution of IT Infrastructure Data Center Server team specific initiatives and projects, often with multiple internal customers and external vendors.• Collaboration with IT Infrastructure department management peers (Network, Services & Labs) to achieve shared IT Infrastructure departmental goals and objectives• IT Infrastructure Data Center Server team Change Management and RCA processes• IT Infrastructure Data Center Server team OnCall and after hours escalation processes• Continual technical training and team skill composition management, including annual reviews of direct reports• All IT Infrastructure Data Center and Server team related documentation, runbooks, and processes.

Senior Display Operator primarily responsible for leading the crews of some of the largest professional displays in the UK, using the latest electrical firing systems and techniques. Training Officer primarily responsible for the delivery of BPA accredited training of crew certification to levels 1 & 2, also a certified examiner for the above.

WAS QUEST PRIOR TO DELL AQUISITIONInfrastructure and virtualization specialist for DSG. Primary day to day concerns include ESXi environments, Dell Networking and Infrastructure and various server technologies ranged across a wide selection of MS and VMWare based OS.

Unfortunately Ballast plc entered administration during October 2003 and the vast majority of the staff was unfortunately made redundant. For my skill set I was kept until the very last possible moment, and could not take redundancy, instead being encouraged to remain at Ballast, by the Administrators, for as long as possible to assist with the technical side of 'winding the company down'. Due the uncertainty of that situation I decided to leave and moved to QA-IQ.

Initially employed as a second line Support Engineer it was soon apparent that this role was one which I could easily handle without problem, and so I was soon moved into a more technical role providing 3rd level support. My previous support manager experience enabled me to assist the existing Support Manager who was new to this role and assume an unofficial supporting role. The company then underwent a rapid period of expansion and it was felt that my technical expertise could be more usefully applied designing, and implementing technical projects and procedures to accommodate the ever changing focus of the business. One of the larger projects I have solely been responsible for has involved the set up, installation and rollout of a thin client remote desktop system (Citrix Presentation Server 4.5) to over 450 users across 20 sites and client offices. This project was undertaken without support and is an achievement that I am personally proud of. More recently i have just completed a project involving a full migration of back and frontend technologies. Exchange 2003>2007, infrastructure servers from MS2003>2008, virtualisation of systems to Hyper-V and VMWare technologies. New front end image for frontend users of XP, MSOffice2007 and various bespoke company applications. Due to the nature of the business (IT Training) I have taken the opportunity to regularly undertake relevant training courses to keep my technical expertise at a consistently high level, details of which are summarised below.More recently as part of the Infrastructure team I have been involved with the recent integration between QA-IQ and Xpertise, and continually strive to provide the highest level of IT to the business as it moves forward.
