I have worked in the telecommunications industry since 2010 starting as an apprentice field technician with Virgin Media. This involved installation and service work on all Virgin Media products. I then progressed onto a Senior Field Technician which also involved mentoring/coaching and dealing with escalations etc.12 years in I decided I had gotten everything I could out of this role and decided to progress on a Network Engineers role, this is my current position. This involves maintaining and fault finding/repairs on all of Virgin Media o2’s external network ( HFC, SDH/PDH Telephone network, Residential FTTP, Business Fibre network and the new XGS PON network.I have completed my City&Guilds 3886-02 certification. This includes Fibre splicing and testing along with Fibre joint preparation and installation. I am PIA accredited for underground work along with NRSWA accredited and ECS accredited also.
