Martyn Driscoll is a Concept Artist at Space Ape Games at Space Ape Games. Colleagues describe them as "Martyn is an exceptional character designer and illustrator. Martyn was a core member of the Chrome Valley team and so was pivotal in building the world and tone of the game. Martyn is incredibly detail focused when it comes to character creation, researching extensively and putting a lot of thought into every facet of the character, which leads to his designs feeling authentic, relateable and appealing. He has a great sense of humour when it comes to building narratives for illustration work, drawing on the depth of the characters he has designed to bring a sense of joy to the delightful images he creates. Martyn is as talented technically as he is at design, working in a wide range of styles and comfortable developing unique looks for each project. As a painter Martyn has a masterful grasp of colour, light and composition. Martyn is also an adept Art Director with excellent communication and inter-personal skills. He treats external partners he works with respect and care, putting in huge efforts to train them up to his high quality bar. This is backed up by excellent process and documentation; Martyn can distill the styles he creates into digestable and repeatable steps which makes it easy for others to follow his direction. Martyn is an avid lover of art and games, and will passionately discuss both.
