TIG /MIG Welder

A satisfying stopgap whilst assessing opportunities; every day was different in my roving roles, good satisfying work with really good staff from the top down! Sometimes it’s really not about the money ( but that helps).

Short term welder/maintenance work; neither profitable or satisfying; but sometimes one has to take what there is!

Various roles, all temporary and unremarkable.

Specialist Alloy Welding, weld analysis,sample preparation alloy specimen sectioning/ polish inspection, x-ray interpretation, machinery calibration checks, Production Line chemchecks including material stockloss acid strength testing Also trained in Boroscope inspection and in the use of Titration Lab equipment ; SAP Data input in all cases.

During this period, I worked in a handful of companies, large & small; some I would recommend, some I most definitely would not!

During this time I ran a business which specialised in custom-made equipment including pressure vessels and design and manufacture of stainless steel turbines/mixers for the chemical and food industries. I divided my time between liaising with customers, quoting for jobs, buying materials and design/fabrication in the workshop.
