Promoted to take responsibility for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) sales region in addition to continuing as the company's marketing lead. EKF manufactures Point-of-Care diagnostics and Clinical Chemistry reagents which are sold through a global network of resellers. EKF works with about 100 appointed distributors in the region and a complex network of sub-dealers in larger territories. These distributors operate within blood banking, anemia screening, diabetes care, sports science and central laboratory testing.Working in the APAC region comes with a series of challenges, particularly in terms of Technical Support and Regulatory Affairs, as well as being a commercially demanding environment to operate in.Crucial to the role was hiring and developing a strong team, identifying the key growth drivers in the region (not all countries are the same) and executing against an agreed plan. In parallel with this revenue growth strategy I implemented reductions to the region's overheads including office relocation in China.Involved in a diverse range of projects including:- Launch of Link. Unique digital connectivity platform for PoC devices accessed by device or Cloud- Investment into third party business developing molecular testing system for UTIs and respiratory diseases- Spin out businesses working on AI solutions for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)Business suffered during the pandemic as Asian health systems reacted quicker to enforce lock-downs than western governments. Despite this, in 2021 budget was exceeded and 2022 will see EKF's APAC sales region hit record revenues.

EKF was newly listed on AIM and needed to move quickly in an industry that rarely does. Marketing that created brand recognition and drove sales of diabetes, anemia and sports medicine diagnostic tools was needed. Investors wanted to see ambition. The full marketing suite - including digital tools - was employed using in-house creative as far as possible with specialist agencies to support.Worked very closely with the Executive Board, distribution management team, Product Managers and Regulatory Affairs on product launches, distributor marketing initiatives, and Investor Relations. Part of the M&A team during acquisitions.

I was approached to head up the Marketing Department of Leekes - owner of a chain of department stores and also a leisure operator. Undertook strategic marketing planning including a rebrand that is still in use, and creative advertising including TV, radio and print, improved the department's efficiency and the media buying effectiveness. Worked in tandem with the eCommerce team to develop online strategies and tactics. Hosted in-house events with TV chefs.

A short stint working for a regional advertising and PR agency working with Wales Government and private clients. Ran seminars on websites and digital tools for small business owners taking the plunge into online.

Joined Designate following the acquisition of Senior King and developed my career through business development, team management and digital creative marketing. Designate had a particularly strong online team building bespoke websites and campaigns for clients from the financial services, transport and leisure industries.
