Since leaving university I have worked in several roles at the Fire Service starting as a systems technician and working up to the Development and Projects Manager. Throughout my time I’ve been responsible for several successful projects and driven the Service forward in innovative system development. I am a competent developer focusing on C#, Javscript, Python and all markup languages. I have extensive knowledge of web APIs including JSON and Rest and have implemented them when integrating systems together.I’m comfortable with data after undertaking numerous analyst roles that have involved advanced statistical processing and the creation of bespoke methodologies still used by the Fire Service. I ran an intensive risk modelling project designed with making recommendations on potential changes in fire response cover in order to provide efficiencies. More recently I have designed a suite of Power BI dashboards utilising statistical process control (XMR).I have transformed the way the Service utilises data, designing extract transform and load (ETL) scripts to connect disparate systems across the organisation to ensure data is available to key decision makers. I have advanced knowledge of SQL databases / querying and have acted as the Services DBO, undertaking maintenance and designing efficient well-run databases. SQL skills have also enabled me to design advanced querying tools to streamline data processing and provide easy to read reporting across a range of bespoke systems.Since moving into a managerial role, I have built and led teams to deliver results and drive the Service forward in development and innovation. Leading from the from the front and accountable for my team I have implemented agile scum methodologies underpinned by DevOps. I have empowered and motivated teams to achieve strategic goal and my vision for cloud computing culminating in the use of Microsoft Azure and the Office 365 tools.
