I started my career after leaving.Southampton university studying business & finance - in telecoms working my way through the ranks and being the youngest account manager in the industry, which at the time was paving the way for Internet infrastructure that we still see today.Being given opportunities by incredible leaders in the industry changed my life.After 6 years in the industry I still felt I had my calling in the sports industryI was fortunate to start life in sport, competing as an elite athlete in Cycling & Triathlon before founding successful chain of Sports Stores, Events Companies, Products Companies and now, my dream of a Watersports Lake.I’ve always been passionate about bringing people together in someway shape or form through sport.This has been through many forms in opening a successful chain of triathlon and bike stores along the Thames Valley in the early 2000s. This led into a natural transition whilst running the stores in launching and events business that successfully delivered over 50 events a year before selling in 2019.In between this, I have been the co-founder and executive director of a bike box luggage business, European nutrition businessIn addition to working within the sporting industry, I have always wanted to make sure that everyone and anyone has the ability to swim open water in a professional and safe environment. This led me to work with some extremely passionate individuals that launched and made swimming in lakes accessible along the Thames Valley .These venues were stepping stone to make open water swimming what it is today and still going strongWith most of the Thames Valley taken care of there was still one very large area that needed an open water, swimming venue which led me to open what was the best and most successful Watersports venue ever opened across the Thames valley With the usual local authorities not having a clue what to do with themselves apart from make life difficult to justify there jobs and politicians moaning about other parties….Caversham lakes was lost in 2024 with over 150 staff losing jobs and many local businesses affectedlocal authorities, the environment agency and landowners now take the full blown responsibility for any incidents accidents and future drownings that will unfortunately take placeIf you or your business is looking for someone to parachute in and get the job done and results achieved then message me or give me a call.
