In 1985, at the age of 22, I started my first business as an insurance broker and it at that time it was generally recognised that I was the youngest person to have ever been granted full credit agencies with institutions such as Norwich Union, Sun Alliance, etc. I also ran a full agency for Nationwide Building Society. I have been actively involved in the area of healthcare since recovering from a long-term illness in 1995. This included working on a project to create the world's lightest treatment couch using composite carbon fibre. Based at the London Business Innovation Centre and having obtained a grant from the European Union, the couch (weighing just 6kg) was successfully launched in 1999 and went on to be granted a 'Millennium Products' award and was displayed in the Millennium Dome.In 2002 I started 'Natural Living Therapy Equipment' from a small office in Suffolk. We were one of the earliest companies to see the value of the internet and we and quickly became the UK's leading online health practitioner store. We relocated the head office to London and the business went from strength-to-strength. Over the years many competitors have come and gone but Natural Living remained strong.In 2020, amid the pandemic, I created another ecommerce business. Zed Med functioned to satisfy the demand for medical supplies and became one of the first businesses to retail Covid lateral flow tests.After a hectic few years I decided to step back from the day-to-day running of business and successfully sold both Zed Med and Natural Living.I know offer my vast experience, gained over 40 years, to help other businesses as a consultant and mentor.Overcoming significant personal and business challenges and being successful in all aspects of life (relationships, business, sport, etc.) has always been a strong motivation within me and I have always believed that anyone can do, and be, anything they want to. When I look back at my life, it is with some surprise, that I realise that I have always achieved my goals.
