This was a subject area that was unfamiliar to him and the role was going to ask for him to perform a different set of activities than which he was accustomed. The role itself focused on stakeholder engagement, building a strong relationship with representatives of the business and IT within the Western European Region. This was a challenge for Martyn which he accepted and stepped up to with positive results. He participated in the Marketing Business Forum, known as Triage, and in the short time in the role established a solid rapport with his counterparts. Another part of the role was to develop a reconciliation dashboard to aid in identifying internal weaknesses in the BI environment. Having had experience of the Marketing environment through the MIN-G project, Martyn was able to deliver this very rapidly and to high degree of quality. This dashboard provided a significant building block to Marketing recognising the value of the Data Management function, with credibility and positive support. This activity far exceeded my expectation in time and quality. Martyn also had to develop relationships with the other members of the Data Management team who were located disparately across the 5 business regions, and the feedback from the team has also been extremely positive. His contribution to the team has also been recognised. In all, Martyn has made a significant contribution whilst performing this temporary role and has proven that he could positively embrace a much wider brief than his technical capabilities. I think this was a great opportunity for Martyn to experience a more of a consultative role and I believe he has done well in unfamiliar territory. I would like to wish him well in his career and future challenges"
