Biography:With 4 decades of experience - starting with formal sales training at International Computers Ltd, ICL and a 6 year sales role there, followed by a global role at HP, with responsibility for the new email technologies. Moved to Cupertino CA. - and for 7 years lead the team - resulting in the product you will know as Microsoft Outlook. This was followed with VP of OEM Sales at Pyramid Technology (high end Unix) responsible for 100M$, across Emea and Asia and ultimately the GM of the EMEA region.In the mid nineties moving to Sun Microsystems as VP of Marketing, then as GM of the New Business Unit, where the UK business was in excess of 2B$. Following Sun, I moved to Dell as VP of Marketing and Channel, learning a very new business model. In 2003 I joined Avaya as head of Unified Communications sales, for EMEA, and gained both sales experience with a 500M$ target and PE, managing a 900M$ acquisition of the German company Tenovis, moving to Avaya New Jersey in 2007 to head the Product Marketing Group, that had 9000 products. Avaya was purchased in 2010 by PE where ultimately I returned to the UK. More latterly I have worked as VP of Global Strategy for Sage PLC in London, a number of Board roles part time, and ultimately set up Zephyrtel, a cloud telephony apps company via ESW PE, acquired 7 companies and achieved a revenue of 80M$, this is now trading as TelecomDR. Recently I reunited with Leslie Stretch to assist Sales, Marketing and Sponsorships and serve as Chair of Pip Hare Ocean Racing.I have a Degree & Masters in Chemistry & Computing from Reading, UK, am a Fellow of the British Computer Society - for the introduction of Java, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a member of the Henley Advanced Business program, and an OBE for the teams work in the Welsh Government where I served in the IT Leadership group as a non exec.
