I'm a Creative Engineer with extensive experience in building disruptive, end-to-end automated systems - employing a range of engineering disciplines. My flagship project is Carapace - a recycled, near-zero embodied carbon roof slate which reduces installation time by 90%. As there are no existing technologies capable of producing its value propositions, I created and deployed a fully automated production cell which uses negligible energy and fits within the footprint of a shipping container. My roof system can reduce UK carbon emissions by 2t-4t for every clay or concrete roof it displaces, equating to 10,000t if less than 1% of the UK was captured. But change needs to happen quickly. And barriers to entry, and growth in high volume industries are insurmountable.
