In this position I am currently responsible for the permanent recruitment for several high profile directorates including, Strategy & Regulation, IT, HSS, Customer Service, Networks Operations and also Asset Management, I also cover Finance & Treasury vacancies for the Crawley office. These roles can be wide ranging in seniority from hands on Electrical Engineers to “Innovation Engineers” to Commercial Finance Managers and Senior Level IT Management positions. I am also given the additional responsibility of sourcing “hard to fill” roles due to my extensive network and experience, winning the respect, trust and appreciation of senior level managers and directors who have little time when it comes to their recruitment. My experience to date is critical to ensure the most efficient and accurate service is provided when presenting candidates to the business and by regularly meeting with senior level managers gaining and fully understanding and meeting the needs of their particular business area. We are also very proud of our achievement of sourcing over 96% of candidates ourselves within the Talent Team hugely reducing the need for agencies and keeping recruitment cost down year on year. I am also responsible for managing the “internal referral” scheme and also attending events to attract ex-military personnel into our business

After taking a year off I was asked to return to Lexstra to set up an office in the Southern Region, I was tasked with sourcing office premises, recruiting, training and mentoring 3 additional staff and managing the day to day office activities. I am also performing a fee earning role as detailed below as a Senior Consultant. As the market had changed considerably since my previous time with Lexstra I also had to evolve to become less reliant on advert response to fill roles and utilize far more networking and headhunting methods to fill clients “hard to fill roles” – an example of this was for Reed Exhibitions when I placed a Senior Project Manager with specific Infrastructure background, 7 other PSL agents had failed, and after the client had interviewed over 20 people for the role I managed to locate the successful candidate from use of my extensive network built up over my career in recruitment.

I joined Lexstra plc when it was in start up mode as employee number two, working alongside the MD and founder, Jon Cashman. The company at that time concentrated on the delivery of contractor recruitment services to the IT functions of investment and retail banks. I was rapidly given autonomy to recruit, train and manage new sales people, and within eighteen months I was the senior sales person in a team of fourteen, with sales at £6.5M pa.I was the driving force in the broadening of the company’s offering to encompass search and selection at a senior management level – recruiting Programme and Project Managers and CTOs for buy side firms, hedge funds and investment banks. I was instrumental in securing a number of preferred supplier agreements with spread betting firms, wealth managers, and inter bank joint ventures. Under my direction Lexstra became the primary recruitment partner for one of the largest publishing groups in the world.
