Worked within a division that coordinated multi-modal transportation planning.Served as Project Manager (PM) for Connect Cobb Environmental Assessment – and participated in Alternatives Analysis – for proposed Cobb Community Transit (CCT) bus rapid transit connecting Kennesaw State to MARTA Arts Center Station to; coordinated extensively with MARTA, City of Atlanta, Midtown Alliance, and Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) to fine-tune project scope and mitigate potential impacts; participate in preliminary station area planning.Supported DOT director-managed Cobb County 2040 Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP 2040); served as PM team member; authored RFP and led procurement process; provided support directly to DOT director and BOC Chairman to assist with CTP 2040 development.Represented DOT director as alternate on the ARC/MPO’s Transportation Coordinating Committee; represent DOT on other ARC committees (e.g. Land Use Coordinating Committee, Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Sponsors, Bicycle and Pedestrian Task Force), and in coordination with 6 Cobb cities, adjacent jurisdictions, 3 Community Improvement Districts, Planning Commission and other departments. Worked within the Planning Group for AMEC (previously known as MACTEC) comprised of planners, architects, landscape architects, historic preservation specialists, engineers, and GIS specialists that served local and regional government clients in 11 counties and 50 cities in AL, GA, MO and TN.Managed and led 21 project teams of 4-15 professionals (included 16 comp. plans): managed junior staff and sub-consultant team members, project budgets, schedules, and quality control; developed and managed budgets and teams – from RFP/RFQ response to closeout – for 12 winning proposals/projects (among the 21 cited) with combined fees of $1,050,000; participated on dozens of additional projects (e.g. comp. plans, area master plans, zoning administration, development regulation rewrites, historic district guidelines, and military base planning in Afghanistan).Participated or led 10 project teams for plans that included (or were prepared simultaneously and coordinated with) multi-modal transportation plans. Coordinated with MPOs (including Atlanta, Birmingham, Chattanooga, Dalton, Mobile, Nashville MPOs) for all plans within urbanized areas.Led design and implementation of Planning Group planning process, production, and branding (e.g. public involvement strategy, general scheduling, document templates, graphic design, mapping standards, public relations, etc.); cross-trained and integrated into planning team a diverse group of professionals within the company.Performed variety of public involvement roles (e.g. event organizing, presentation delivery, meeting facilitation, etc.) during more than 300 public meetings that involved more than 4,400 participants; presented to and coordinated with dozens of county BOCs, city councils, planning commissions, design review committees, civic groups, etc. Managed project public relations via project websites, newsletters, fact sheets, social media, press releases, and interviews with more than 30 local media outlets.

Managed 2 corridor studies: prepared scopes of work, participated in consultant selection, reviewed deliverables, facilitated meetings, and led plans through adoption process.Conducted socioeconomic, land use, zoning, property records research and GIS data analysis for special studies focused on economic development and annexation; assisted with 12 additional studies, which included LCIs, redevelopment plans, TADs, text amendments; assisted with TIP and responses to ARC/MPO TIP calls for projects.Coordinated with multiple partners (e.g. ARC, MARTA, GRTA, CIDs) to develop plans and prepare grant applications to secure funding for future studies and infrastructure improvements recommended by previous plans and studies.

Participated on 23 additional project teams for in-house plans including the department strategic plan, countywide functional plans (e.g. transect, parks, bike/ped), corridor studies, urban design overlays, and text amendments.Led effort to update long range planning process that increased efficiency, maximized staff resources, increased annual output of plans, increased public participation, and developed junior staff for expanded roles.Worked jointly with current planning section in 2001-2002 (during staff shortage) and reviewed development proposals for compliance with codes, ordinances, and regulation standards and consistency with adopted plans; prepared and presented staff recommendations to Planning Commission, and Board of Zoning Appeals.
