The Center for Integrated Knowledge Invention (CIKI, https://integratedknowledgeinvention.com, ABN: 62 748 200 344) was founded in 2016 by Dr. A M M Maruf Hossain, who specializes on the intellectual treatment of sustainability. His doctoral work at RMIT University, Australia had produced a fundamental intellectual process for the study of 'pluralistic knowledge/ research structures' with respect to sustainability. This contribution led to the creation of a new mode of intellectual inquiry—inquiring on the production of sound knowledge on the totalities of things/ realities—to be imperative for the provision of an effective intellectual treatment of sustainability. CIKI was founded for realizing this intellectual need.Activities:1. The advancement of 'the scholarship of sustainability'2. The creation of effective approaches towards resolving the problems of unsustainability3. The designing of effective curricula with respect to sustainability

Activities/ responsibilities: (i) advanced research on: fundamental sustainability thinking, theoretical and empirical foundations of the intellectual treatment of sustainability, and discursive, integrative and contextual qualities of sustainability science, (ii) the analyses, interpretation and reporting of results, and (iii) scholarly writing and publishing.Research streams: sustainability, sustainable development, theoretical and empirical sustainability, sustainability science, global sustainability, environmental sciences, and environmental management.

Activities/ responsibilities: (i) preparing research articles based on my doctoral work, (ii) submitting manuscripts to reputed journals, and (iii) reporting to School of Graduate Research, RMIT University on work in progress.

Activities/ responsibilities:Supervising Level Crossing Removal (LXR) ‘customer experience projects’ for Metro Trains Melbourne during ‘absolute occupation events’Main responsibilities included: (i) assisting the LXR authority with the set-up and pack-down of occupations, (ii) leading/ supervising and managing customer service teams stationed along the affected lines (usually mounting to a count in excess of 100 staff), (iii) monitoring customer service standards, and providing onsite training, (iv) resolving issues/ incidents through engaging appropriate stakeholders, and reporting such incidents to both Metro Trains Melbourne and the LXR authority, and (v) contributing to the planning of future projects on the basis of field-generated inputs.

Activities/ responsibilities: (i) the conduction of laboratory-based experiments, (ii) research group management, (iii) the analyses, interpretation and reporting of results, (iv) technical/ scientific writing, and (v) editing and publishing.Research streams: environmental science, environmental engineering, atmospheric science, physical and chemical characterization, ultra-fine particles produced out of biomass-burning, atmospheric ultra-fine particles, climate change, global estimate, and sustainability.

Activities/ responsibilities: (i) convening R&D projects with collaboration across research, academic and service-based organizations, (ii) the formation of ideas for new research, and the planning and drafting of proposals for R&D projects, (iii) building and managing research teams, (iv) maintaining liaison across the collaborating organizations, (v) the conduction of laboratory-based experiments and field-work, (vi) the analyses, interpretation and reporting of results, (vii) the drafting of technical reports, and (viii) scientific writing and publishing.The following three R&D projects were successfully completed: ‘Feasibility study of thorough use of tannery solid wastes as poultry feed and its ecological consequences (food safety chain) through bio-magnification’, ‘Heavy metal contamination of agro-based products for assessment of public health safety in Bangladesh’, and ‘Common vegetables as bio-indicators of heavy metal pollution in Bangladesh and their public health concern’.

Activities/ responsibilities: (i) the conduction of laboratory-based experiments, (ii) the analyses, interpretation and reporting of results, and (iii) technical/ scientific writing and publishing.The project had dealt with the development of a novel process for the remediation of chromium from tanning-process-derived wastes through the deployment of microbial enzymatic reduction followed by chemical precipitation.
