Current* Direct in-charge for safe operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of all machinery on board, including large 2-stroke marine diesel engine, auxiliary engines, auxiliary machinery, pumps, electrical and electronic equipment. • Carried out troubleshooting and overhauling on large two-stroke marine diesel engines of MAN B&W (MCC, ME-B & ME-C), Mitsubishi (UEC) engines and four-stroke engines of Yanmar and Daihatsu. • Gained hands-on experience working with the latest marine machineries technology such as MAN B&W G series ME-C engines, Exhaust Gas Cleaning System & SCR, Ballast Water Treatment System using UV & Chemical, Cargo oil pump turbines, and FRAMO submerged cargo pumps. • Efficiently operated diesel and turbine generators which results in reduced carbon footprints, NOx and SOx emissions. • Performance and condition monitoring of shipboard machinery using control systems to ensure efficient operation and strict usage of Planned Maintenance System (PMS) reduced machinery downtime. • Onscene team leader of the emergency response team for fire fighting, oil/chemical spill, flood prevention, enclosed space entry and rescue, man overboard and rescue operations. Regular training and drills are conducted to train crew members to tackle any emergency on board. • Responsible officer in shipboard organisations such as toolbox meetings, risk assessments, safety, health and environment committee meetings and mess committee meetings. • Facilitator for onboard health campaigns, resilience programs, and near-miss campaigns conducted by Shell and NYK and trained crew members to cultivate a safe and healthy working culture onboard by making creative digital content such as videos that Shell highly appreciated.* Execute orders and duties from Chief Engineer, participate in daily maintenance, and distribute/follow up on daily work for other engineers and engine crew.
