My name is Marvellous O. Ajala, I’m a pharmacist and a recent graduate of University of Lagos . I am also a machine learning engineer and an independent machine learning researcher.My primary research interest lies in application of artificial intelligence in drug discovery specifically in design ML models with great out-of-distribution generalisation for virtual screening and denovo design of compounds that are synthetically accessible. Thus, my work revolves around graph neural networks, generative ai and more recently probabilistic deep learning. Previously, I worked as a ML engineer on computer vision and MLOps and also as a clinical pharmacist.I am also interested in the general application of AI in healthcare as a whole and I volunteer with SisonkeBiotik, a research community focused on application of AI in healthcare for Africans and by Africans.I also used to run a now defunct newsletter, Health Transformers where I talk about innovation, startups and everything in between around health within the Nigerian and African.
