I am a designer that can work with a team, manage a project or work remotely. These abilities have been honed over the years working in advertising agencies, eventually becoming a Creative Director, then going out on my own. I can bring these skills to your business, agency, or design firm in an easy-going, proactive manner.

Directed creative strategy for the national rebranding of the four divisions of GoldenLiving, a national family of healthcare companies. Also directed design and helped with strategy for new business and development of the agency website and collateral.Major achievements at Caldwell:Rebranding of the four GoldenLiving divisions – Part of a team that researched competitive sets, participated in strategy sessions with all of the corporate stakeholders for AseraCare Hospice, Aseracare Home Health, 360 Healthcare Staffing, and Ceres Purchasing Solutions. We also conducted design charrettes with the divisional vice presidents and their staff. From this accumulation of information standards manuals were developed for each division to promote a corporate identity, but would still allow each to have their own personality. This includes development of color palettes, typography standards, design standards, nomenclature, and recommended copy usage. This information was used to direct development of all advertising and collateral.

Vice President, Director of Marketing Managed a creative staff of eleven employees and oversaw the work of all creative staff and freelance copywriters and designers. I was responsible for leading the creative department, copywriting, design, writing proposals and creative briefs, making client presentations, and direct client contact. Worked closely with account person and clients to develop strategies and bring campaigns in on budget and on time. Instituted a team atmosphere between the creative and account executive departments. Experienced in Website creation and Internet strategy, in addition to print, TV and radio design and production. Maintained the creative integrity for client on all projects in the agency. Major achievements as Creative Director:Rebranding Seminole Community College - During this time SCC had the highest first-time college student enrollment of any other community college in the state.Website development for the Downtown Disney Resort Area Hotels - Developed and managed an information and commerce site for this client for ten years. The association outperformed the competition in organic searches and was always placed in the top ten search results and most often in the top three. Also developed the Web and print advertising, collateral development, writing, and coordinated public relations and advertising initiatives. These combined efforts produced $2,000,000 a year in profits for the association. Branding NCG Medical - Tasked by the client to create an impactful leave behind piece for their sales staff, the piece had to hold a sales presentation, letter, business card and two product demonstration CDs. The project was successful for the sales staff and resulted in the agency acquiring a public relations and marketing contract that included advertising, development and production, newsletters, tradeshow displays and material, and Website development.

Senior Art DirectorPart of an eight person creative department. Developed a strong sense of teamwork at this agency and learned how effective teamwork can enhance work and business relationships. I was responsible for all advertising and all business-to-business and corporate communications in the United States for Advantis, a division of IBM. This included national advertising campaigns, creative strategy, and design of yearly worldwide corporate meeting, as well as television and radio. Creative responsibilities included design, copy writing, developing marketing strategies, writing creative briefs and proposals, making client presentations, and client direct contact.

As an art director at this agency was able to take advantage of my skill at organizing and overseeing complex location photo shoots. I managed and produced numerous schedules for location and studio projects that ran smoothly, on time, and on budget. One of the major projects I spearheaded was the rebranding of Callaway Gardens, a family oriented resort, golf course, and attraction. It involved redesigning all of the collateral, developing newspaper advertising, cooperative marketing projects with major fast food chains, 30-second television spots, radio spots and promotions, and the launching of their Christmas Season event, “Fantasy of Light.”
