Put me on the Team! Throughout my youth and adulthood, I found myself attracted to team environments, whether it was in the classroom or athletics. In my professional career, I still love being part of a team. I have found that productive and efficient teams are comprised of individuals who have a common goal and move effectively towards that shared goal. I spent 15 years as an Optical Transport Engineer for Alcatel-Lucent. I was a critical member of project teams deploy optical networking systems for a multitude of customers. I found it rewarding doing my part to help our team achieve our goals, I was never prouder than when Company executives asked me in 2001 to be a part of the World Trade Center & Pentagon Disaster Recovery Team. Our team needed to restore communication channels, data, and telephony lines, in Manhattan, New York and the Pentagon in Washington, DC as soon as possible. We did this by engineering and implementing mobile central offices. This was by far one of the most important things I have done as a professional and as an American. I wanted more! In 2011, I became a Project Manager for Infinera. My role changed from being a member of the team to leading the team. I thrived in this position and found it most rewarding seeing a project from the very inception to its conclusion. Our project team implemented innovative technology to new and existing networks for our Tier 1, Tier 2, and Content customers. Every team member and his/her contributions were vital to our success. As the Project Manager and leader of the project team, it was my responsibility to organize, plan, and communicate with stakeholders to ensure the Project was on schedule and under budget. Project goals rollup to company goals by way of profitability, reputation, and customer satisfaction, so our projects’ success impacted our company’s success.Growing the team! In 2019, I began leading our Project Management organization in North America for Infinera. As the Director, I provided support and guidance for the Project Managers, reported to, and advised executives and Finance departments on current quarter financials, and strategize with the executives, finance, and peer leaders on future quarter bookings, customer engagement, and resource requirements. I love team environments and I am ready to lead any team on day one.
