Supervises unit, direct, and general support maintenance on all types of mechanical equipment; plans layout of maintenance shops and facilities; supervises production and quality control; evaluates work performance and training requirements of subordinates; assists in preparing maintenance policies, technical studies, correspondence, records, planning reports, and special reports; responsible for providing organizational and direct support maintenance for the battalion; responsible for the overall management, logistics, quality control and quality assurance, initial work orders and final inspections; reporting Army Material Status ( AMSS) for over 40 units to higher echelons, quarterly Production Index and Backlog reports and quarterly environmental Hazardous Material reports; Compile data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistic activities. Responsible for the health, welfare and training of 18 Non-Commissioned Officers and 120 soldiers; Enforce safety regulations and accountability of equipment in all work areas.
