Usda Lab Facility In Ames, Ia

• I was hired by STV and attained all security clearances from USDA and Homeland Security. I worked as a Senior Construction Engineer - Electrical/Electronic working on multiple building projects ($460 Million) under construction for The USDA Animal Research Modernization Facility in Ames, Iowa. I was hired to work closely with the USDA clients, construction management companies, project architects, project engineers and electrical contractors and provide electrical expertise to the USDA in the construction of the new modernization Bio-Level facilities. Responsibilities to include on-site commissioning efforts for all electrical/electronic systems for all major projects, identify any deficiencies in safety, construction, design deficiencies, review all potential change orders for accuracy and costs, and to review all site infrastructure improvements for all systems: electrical, communication and security (U.S. Homeland Security) for the duration of the Ames Modernization building program.

Served as project manager and project engineer on all the major projects that I was involved in.• Major project clients included:- MAYO Foundation and Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota that included major expansion to local hospitals, research laboratory and mental health facility. - ETMC Hospital in Athens, Texas that included surgery and patient care expansion.- New Rochester Arts Facility.- New Mega Theater complex in Rochester, Minnesota. - All security upgrades to thirteen City of Minneapolis owned and operated parking decks. Project included monitoring the video and audio transmissions from all thirteen parking decks to a central security monitoring station. Developed cost estimate projections with escalations for accomplishing the end result in stages over a seven-year period of time. This would enable the City of Minneapolis to procure the yearly-required tax revenue to accomplish the project in mini-stages.- Provided electrical cost estimates on all projects at key stages to promote project cost controls.- Provided all audio and video surveillance design and cost estimates for the Lynde and Harry Bradley School of Technology and Trade in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities included: co-managing and supervision of a staff of twenty-six MEP personnel at the highest stage with a mean staff of sixteen. Duties included designing and project management of selected projects, preparation of fee proposals, budgeting and scheduling, project design and specifications, cost estimating and quality assurance. Authored a complete master electrical specification, established company electrical standards and helped implement CADD system drafting for all personnel. Helped develop a complete expertise in quality designs and project controls for doing correctional facilities in major areas within the United States and Mexico. The company was noted in the correction environment as one of the five leading correctional specialists in the United States.
