  • Box Of Delights Family Theatre
    Actor/Producer
Box Of Delights Family Theatre 2012 - 2013
Box of Delights ran itself similarly to an ensemble program. Members were expected to wear many hats: acting, writing, stage management, producing, etc. Production periods ranged from 3 months to 4 days, accommodating a wide variety of shows with audiences both large and small. (And the very small: think 3 year olds)BoD set itself apart with it's educational aspects in each production; often incorporating audience interaction, post-show talks & backstage tours, and pre /post workshops for children of all ages. Personally, my role veered mostly towards production & events management: Creating/analyzing audiences, organizing venue/rehearsal logistics, budgeting, and finding/maintaining backstage/technical talent. The most notable production under BoD was David Wood's Fantastic Mr. Fox, a large scale production incorporating puppetry, animation, and live music. It was presented by Kakiseni and Playground Productions, in collaboration with Jabatan Kubudayaan & Kesenian Negara (Ministry of Culture & Arts).
