Mr. Abboud is currently an independent consultant with 35+ years of experience in the fields of transportation planning, traffic engineering, and highway design. During his 35+ years career he has managed and engineered numerous intelligent transportation systems (ITS), traffic engineering, and planning projects. Mr. Abboud has extensive experience in the planning, design and timing of traffic signal systems, advanced transportation management systems (ATMS), advanced traveler information systems (ATIS),Traffic Control Centers (TCC) and Tolling Systems designs and upgrades. His expertise encompasses regular design/bid/build type projects, Design/Build projects and most recently Public Private Partnership type pursuits.Marwan is very well versed in establishing vision, goals, objectives and performing SWOT analyses and resulting tactical implementation strategies for his client’s projects to achieve the required results.While previously employed with Arcadis, Mr. Abboud managed a national group of 200+ Traffic Engineers, Planners, Traffic and GIS experts who are supporting clients in over 15 States in the US.Marwan is actively involved with the ITS practice community and is an active member of ITS World Congress, ITS America, Gulf Region ITS, ITS GA, ITS Florida, ITS TN, ITS Florida and Florida AVF and other technical forums and committees. He is also actively focused and engaged with AV/CV research and development monitoring, assessing, evaluating and researching trends that will affect the transportation industry and the local, state, national and international clients.
