About Marwa Zafarullah, M.Sc., Ph.D.

• Ph.D. in Genetics and Genomics with 8+ years of experience conducting collaborative, interdisciplinary research at the intersection of medical, molecular, and translational sciences. I utilized the advanced omic platforms and molecular tools to explore the human transcriptional landscape, protein pathways, and immune, metabolomic, and proteomic profiles with an aim to develop the biomarker for early diagnosis and progression of neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative and neuromuscular disorders. • Published 10+ first-author manuscripts within 4 years of the Ph.D. program, won 5+ fellowships including the AIP-USAID, MS Scholarship worth $100,000, and Emmy Werner and Stanley Jacobsen Fellowship worth $50,000. I received 10+ travel & professional development awards, served on executive boards of 8+ organizations, and was nominated as an AGGIE HERO by the UC Davis Chancellor Gary May in appreciation for my community services.• Collaborated at different stages of scientific projects including the development to final data analysis with academic labs along with biopharma companies nationwide and internationally. In addition, I also learned to drive new business sales to strategic accounts with the collaboration of scientific leadership and communication during my industrial internship as a business development associate.• Excited about pursuing a career as a neuroscientist. Besides my work interests are biomarker and product development, clinical genetic testing, genome editing, and drug discovery. I am super thrilled to utilize my vast expertise, advanced knowledge, and broad skillset to help humankind by bringing personalized medicine from bench to bedside. When I am not doing science or business, I am trying new recipes, enjoying good music, watching Netflix, and hanging out with my family.About Marwa Zafarullah: https://about.me/marwa.zafarullah
