A strong believer that life consists of a series of plot twists..With how I turned my life 180 degrees for the past 10years, I believe that these plot twists made me more resilient and develop a growth mindset. I studied Nursing in the Philippines, but i decided to take a turn and worked for a huge telecommunications company back home as part of the Process Management Team. Fast forward to now living in Canada, taking care of a dog and working as an OTA/PTA. Even if I did not practice my Nursing career, most of the values I hold close to my heart are from that experience. The values of human connection, accountability, responsibility and finding the rationale of why we do things help me shape my life and work ethics. My current job as an OTA/PTA also strengthen these values especially the human connection with my patients during the most vulnerable state in their lives - my goal aside from following the therapy regimen that was established by my OT and PT colleagues is to know my patients' stories to be able to connect with my patients more effectively and help them reach their therapy goals with me respecting their values, culture, beliefs and valuing what matters most to them. Most of the plots twists are considered as road blocks for some, but for me, I treat them as challenges that can potentially turn into learning opportunities, personal development and professional growth.
