Hi! My name is Mary Beth Harbin. As a woman acquainted with hurt but also healing, I am willing to navigate dark places with clients while offering the hope of renewed strength and lasting victory.I consider counseling a sacred invitation into the hurts and hopes of those I counsel; therefore, I deem individuals who seek my counseling services to be most courageous as they choose to share the most intimate snapshots of their lives, relationships, and vulnerabilities with me. In exchange, clients can expect a safe and non-judgmental environment for healing and restoration to take place. I will walk through this season of life with you with genuine care and empathy, compassionate curiosity, clinical skills and experience, and professionalism. I adhere to a Christian faith commitment and consider my work, as a counselor, to be a ministry; therefore, this spiritual view influences my approach to counseling. However, I am extremely comfortable working with clients who do not share my same faith commitment, and I have much experience doing just that with genuine respect and care for all. My experience includes counseling children to mature adults, couples (married and unmarried), and groups in a diverse population of individuals with regard to race, gender, identity, ethnicity, cultural, spiritual, and socio-economic values and family systems. In total, I have more than 1,600 hours of face-to-face interactions with clients and 2 800 total counseling service hours.I am a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (P-LPC; P-0829) at Hope to Share Life, PLLC and Clinic Administrator at Shephearst Meadows in Flowood, Mississippi. I work under the supervision of Emily Jernigan, LPC-S (1842; 448). I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. My previous life experience includes more than ten years as an executive of a financial institution as well as personal investments into motherhood, family/married life, and church ministry.
