Mary A. Brumbach, Ph.D., CFRE is the Chief Strategy Officer for Dallas College. She holds degrees from the University of North Texas and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in art, art history, and art education. With more than 35 years of experience in external funding, Dr. Brumbach has served in a variety of roles, including president, with the Council for Resource Development, the association for community college development officers. She also has served at the national and international levels with the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) Program Board and is a former chairman of the board of CFRE International. She led the taskforce for creation of the AFP CFRE Review Course and served on the editorial board for Fundraising Fundamentals. A Fulbright Scholar, she has received distinguished service awards from the Council for Resource Development, the Community College Humanities Association, and the Texas Association of Schools of Art and was named the 2002 Fundraising Executive of the Year by the Dallas Chapter of AFP. Dr. Brumbach has been responsible for over $280 million in successful proposals. She holds awards for film and television work and has authored publications in resource development, solution generation, curriculum design, and conference management including articles in the AACC Journal, Advancing Philanthropy (AFP), and the Journal of Community College Research and Practice. She is a sought after presenter in topics as varied as "Ballroom Dancing in a Minefield", “Reframing Funding: Complex Times Require Complex Solutions”, “Entrepreneurial Approaches to Strategic Development” and “Through the Looking Glass: An Exploration of the Knowledge Dimensions of Organizational Change” in addition to fund raising, adaptive leadership, STEM in community colleges, partnership development, and proposal development. She is a graduate of the Community College Executive Leadership Institute and a recognized designer and facilitator for Compression Planning. She leads the Strategic Initiatives Division of Dallas College which, under her guidance, has facilitated over 400 customized planning sessions in the past 7 years with more than 5,000 participants.
