About Mary Button
I am the retired former owner of RaceReady, a manufacturer of running apparel. My husband and I sold our business at the end of 2010. Since then I have my own company, Iconic Resources which provides accounting consulting services. I am also an avid writer.In February 2019 I published my book "Running and Me". It is a memoir which also describes how the sport of long distance running has changed over the past 25 years. It evolved from no-frills to big business.https://runningandme.com/I am a former competitive marathon runner. I qualified for the Olympic Trials in 1996 and also in 2000. In 2000 I qualified as a master (age over 40) and ran the marathon trials in Columbia, one of only 17 total master runners. I am currently on the Board of Directors for the non-profit Friends of Griffith Park. Our mission is to preserve and protect the Park for current and future generations to enjoy. I engage in environmental and political activism nearly every day.
