January 20, 1995, my husband and partner started our business: d.s. vespers Sports Pub & Eatery (1995); and have since expanded to include a full family entertainment center. In September 1998 we opened Laser Rock Laser Tag Center, and in the following year we relocated our bar and restaurant into the laser tag facility and renamed our business The Edge (Eats Drinks Games Entertainment. In 2001 we put in an outdoor miniature golf course, which we kept until 2011, when we repurposed that space and added five movie theaters, which opened in July 2012.We are now in the process of adding an additional 33,500 square feet to open an indoor electric go-kart track, eight lanes of bowling, bumper cars, 4D theatre, Virtual Reality rides, banquet space and more video arcade games.Prior to opening a business, I was Director of Appropriations for U.S. Senator Alan J. Dixon (1984-1993); was Liaison to the Illinois Congressional Delegation (1993-1994); and was the Liaison to the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture on the Relief Programs of the Flood of 1993 (1994) for six counties in Illinois (which included the relocation of Valmeyer and Grafton).Specialties: Consultation and training in business startups (22 years); and legislative work and government liaison for 11 years.
