Over the past few years I've taught myself to knit and when I've had a chance (and the inspiration!) I have created and published online my own designs under the name of JustinianKnits. Nothing extravagant. I am by no means an expert knitter, but for me, knitting is like cooking. It is a bridge crossing cultures and centuries, and whether I am stirring a pot of stew or sitting in front of a fire passing yarn from one needle to another, I find a sense of continuity and comfort that is so often missing in our digital age. I serve as the manager-on-duty when needed. Other duties include: customer service, fabric cutting, cashier, stocking, store recovery. Starting as a general team member, I was offered a key holder position within four months of joining the company.

I started at EBSCO as an entry-level Researcher in the Title Information Department. Within six month, I had been promoted to Team Lead. By my fourth year, I had been made a supervisor overseeing a team of up to twenty people. In 2014, the Title Information Department was merged with another department. My position likewise changed and I became an assistant manager in the newly created department.

I moved back to Birmingham, Alabama for family reasons, and my love of books led me to join Barnes & Noble as an entry-level bookseller. Within a few months, I was promoted to a newly opened Lead Bookseller position, and soon afterward, I was offered the Department Manager position at the Hoover location. I remained there until joining EBSCO.

Greater Boston Area

A love of books has always led me to work in bookstores and libraries starting at age twelve as a summer volunteer in my local library. I joined the student workforce at Boston University's Mugar Memorial Library, and shortly after graduation, a full-time position opened and I was fortunate enough to obtain it. Within two to three months a more supervisory position opened at the library. I applied for it and received the promotion. A few years later, the assistant supervisor position became available and I was promoted to it.
