Directs the movement of aircraft within class Delta airspace surrounding the airport and controls aircraft, personnel and equipment within the designated movement areas on the airport. Observes and reports weather information in real time to the appropriate facilities. Reports aircraft incidents/accidents and completes associated paperwork. Certified at Denver Control Tower, which is an ATC Level 12 facility with a traffic density of 160 aircraft per hour. Responsible for the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic within the Denver Terminal airspace. Responsible for separation and sequencing of aircraft in and out of Denver International airport. Additional duties included monitoring and training developmental controllers to become fully certified at Denver Tower. All trainees that I trained were fully facility rated. Twenty percent of time worked weekly included controller in charge duties. Served on the Emergency Safety Board for the control tower, and was instrumental in rewriting and reworking the procedures involved in the safety of employees in the building. Responsible for the safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic within the terminal; This was a level IV radar approach control/tower. My main focus during this period was sequencing and spacing of aircraft for two busy cargo operations in the airspace. Certified on Automated Radar Tracking System (ARTSIIIA), Tower Radar Display (BRITE Scope), National Weather Service Certificate of Authority to take weather observations. Certified as an on the job training instructor at this facility. Formulated procedures and recommended changes to enhance the sequencing of arrivals from Indianapolis Center and the departure routings of aircraft being handed off to the center. Extra duties included Federal Woman's Coordinator for the Dayton area, and participated in many recruiting efforts throughout the area.

Traffic Control Tower and Radar Approach ControlWorked as an air traffic controller in a level III radar approach control/tower. Responsible for the separation of military F4's and later, F-16's, air carrier, visual flight rules (VFR) aircraft, instrument flight rules (IFR) aircraft within the terminal environment. Certified on Automated Radar Tracking System (ARTS) II and III. Monitored and trained developmental controllers to become fully facility certified. Additional duties included serving on the Facility Advisory Board (FAB), which formulated policies and procedures being implemented both within the facility and between the facility and users of the system.
