A Licensed Marital and Family Therapist working in private practice, Mary’s personal mission is to help individuals, couples, and families reach their full potential in meeting goals, attaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle, and gaining the skills necessary to become the person or people they feel they are called to become. Mary believes in the healing power of community and healthy relationships in one’s life. She strives to create a safe space where clients can explore and work through issues that may prevent them from having these positive things in their lives. Mary earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Theology and a Certificate in American Humanics from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. She received her Master of Arts Degree in Marital and Family Therapy and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Pastoral Care and Counseling from the University of San Diego. Mary is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists in good standing. Mary has a wide array of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Her background includes work in: the not for profit sector at Big Brothers Big Sisters, youth groups for several years, Catholic Charities Counseling Services, San Diego Hospice Camp Erin grief camps for adolescents and children, University of San Diego University Ministry, Cathedral Catholic High School Pastoral Counseling, San Diego Phobia Foundation Support Groups for Anxiety, and the San Diego Institute for Couples and Families Private Practice. I provided adult and child individual counseling, family counseling, and couples counseling. I worked with a diverse population and in diverse settings including: an elementary school, the office downtown, and Rachel's Women's Center.

I began working at BBBS of SDC as a case manager providing direct services to Bigs and Littles. I then became an Enrollment and Matching Specialist. After that I became a Program Manager, supervising Enrollment and Matching Specialists, Match Support Specialists, and Interns.
