Trying something new can sometimes be daunting to me but I still strive to perform at my best ability even if it may be tough. I believe that stepping out of my comfort zone is essential towards my personal growth and improvement and would allow me to become more adaptable to changes. Currently, I am a Year 3 student in Nanyang Polytechnic pursuing a Diploma in Business Management, specialising in Human Resource Management and Marketing. My interest in business grew when I first started my Carousell account. I really enjoyed the process of listing my items up, thinking of descriptions to better promote the items I wanted to sell, confirming the deal and even the communications I had with customers. My interest in business developed even more when I started working part-time in the Retail sector and the Food and Beverage sector. Having worked at two different sectors in the business industry, I was able to broaden my horizon and gain valuable experiences that has sharpened my interpersonal and communication skills due to frequent and daily interactions with customers that has also allowed me to become an even more confident individual.My friends describe me as outgoing, determined, and cheerful. I am both a leader and a follower. I enjoy working with people because it allows me to gain insights and learn from people who come from different backgrounds. I have learnt to develop stronger communication skills and to be patient and understanding when it comes to overcoming group conflicts. Furthermore, it challenges me to tackle more complex problems together as a group. I take pride in what I do, and I always strive to achieve excellence. When faced with challenges along the way, I will always persevere and try my best to face it head on, pushing myself no matter how hard it could be. I often had to interact with the customers to attend to their different needs and interact with my co-workers who were all older than me there which allowed me to enhance my interpersonal and communication skills. I learnt to not be afraid in recommending customers the latest and best-selling clothing that the store had to offer in order to increase the sales revenue of the store and it had allowed me to increase my self-confidence. I also learnt that being efficient and organised was very important too as many times during peak hours, I had to ensure that the shopfloor was organised with apparels neatly folded and hanged according to the sizes so that customers would have a pleasant shopping experience whenever they come to the outlet.
