The Institute is a democratic membership organisation which is run by an elected Council, made up of IfA members. The Council work together as directors of the Institute to decide on how IfA is run and the work that it undertakes.

Over 14 years’ professional experience in the archaeology and historic buildings sectors. Primary experience relates to surveying historic buildings, archaeology surveys and investigations, and assessing and writing cultural heritage and archaeology reports. Experience includes liaising with Local Authorities with a focus on managing heritage constraints within the planning system. Close working with fieldwork teams to ensure project delivery on time and within budget. Recent projects include residential, solar farms, anaerobic digestion plants, quarries and crematoriums. Inputs include resolution of heritage issues within the framework of archaeology conditions, listed building conditions, conservation area and scheduled monument consents.
