Developed and implemented member programs and services for a network of 60+ associations representing 7,000 organizations nationwide. Integral to organization-wide program management, budget development, financial reporting, operations and fundraising. Administered re-granting programs for capacity-building to strengthen network activities. Supervised staff of multiple, cross-functional departments: member services, events, benefits, programming, knowledge management, and strategic partnerships. Coordinated logistics and session content for annual member conference and for Foundations on the Hill, the annual lobby day for foundations. Developed event budgets, negotiate venues and vendor contracts, and manage staff and volunteer committees. Cultivated relationships with board, project task forces, grantees, national funding partners, and internal stakeholders. Secured and managed more than $2 million in major grants from national funders. Served on design/content team for Forum website and digital/print brand management.

Managed a $2 million, six-state pilot project to promote federally-funded SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Programs) counseling services for Medicare beneficiaries. Assessed state/local outreach efforts through written surveys, interviews, and site visits. Collaborated with state and local SHIP coordinators to reach new audiences by producing consumer marketing and educational materials in print and web-based formats. Conducted on-site outreach training programs.

Promoted Foundation’s online resources (for women’s health, minority health, Medicare, and health care financing) via website, e-newsletters, email alerts, mailings to association members, and demonstrations at work sites and conferences. Encouraged external partners to cross-promote information. Led outreach for initiative educating physicians/patients about racial disparities in cardiac care. Developed partnerships with nonprofit and federal agencies to promote critical health news and research to workforces, members and consumers. Headed marketing communications, e.g., email updates, brochures, postcards, and direct mail. Designed and analyzed website user surveys; used feedback for site redesign.

Directed $800,000 budget while managing daily operations and five staff. Collaborated with federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau, health professionals, and managed care organizations to promote national children’s health and disease prevention initiative. Worked with state health officials to integrate Bright Futures into states’ policies. Liaised with project advisory committees, corporate funders, and national partners. Edited publications, reports, web content, and conference presentations. Presented at state health conferences and professional health association meetings.

Spearheaded $1.5 million in educational programs for women (clinical depression, pain management, menopause, end-of-life caregiving, family-friendly policies, pay equity, and entrepreneurship) for national association of 50,000 members/2,000 local organizations. Managed $250,000 grant program funding depression-awareness campaigns in 15 communities nationwide. Collaborated cross-departmentally on fundraising and grant writing to secure $750,000 in corporate and foundation support. Developed and managed “Work and Family: Today’s Realities and Tomorrow’s Visions” and “Work and Family: Expanding the Horizons,” two academic conferences featuring international research on work/life issues.
