Advancing Equity and Strengthening Teaching through Elementary Mathematical ModelingConducted, recorded, and transcribed 30 teacher interviews over two years. Contributed with coding and analyzing qualitative data from 164 interviews with respect to culturally responsive mathematics teaching and dilemmas.Collected data (audiovisual, images, student and teacher work samples etc.) from 14 professional development (PD) sessions and 50 classroom observations. Developed ten inventory catalogues for efficient data organization and retrieval.Collaborated with scoring team to design and develop a classroom observation protocol to assess 93 modeling tasks with respect to culturally responsive mathematics teaching and modeling competencies. Interpreted quantitative data from protocol scores to inform analysis of teacher practices during modeling.Participated in creating 14 innovative and engaging lessons for three types of mathematical modeling routines for learners in grades K-2. Generated representations of mathematical possibilities in a modeling routine through visual representations, symbols, number sentences, grouping structures, diagrams, etc. Assisted with developing two scoring rubrics for primary teachers to formatively assess small groups of learners engaged in modeling routines. Incorporated teacher feedback to modify routines and inform future development.

Preservice Teachers Mathematical Modeling Research Effectively communicated with principal investigators to interpret, code, and analyze qualitative data collected from 11 preservice teachers during a mathematical modeling course.

Calculus for Technology I

Taught three high school classes in Integrated Math IV and one in Integrated Math II during COVID-19. Classes began in person and ended online. Topics included: probability, permutations, combinations, logarithms, exponents, area, volume, triangles, and parallelograms.Designed and implemented Common Core aligned lesson plans which included scaffolding the material to support diverse student learning styles and varying levels of mathematical competence.

Taught private piano lessons.

Assisted with financial bookkeeping by organizing, recording, and updating reports in QuickBooks. Created a company user manual detailing the processes applied in its financial bookkeeping.

College Algebra

Supervised and trained a three-person sales team in their communication with customers.Organized, planned, and distributed work between sales representatives in alignment with team goals. Developed efficient methods for accommodating increased work volume.
