CurrentThe number two HR position for the ALA and “right hand” to the current Associate Executive Director of Human Resources. My role is that of strategic partner to management, valued resource for association staff, and an association policy, employment law and compliance expert for HR staff. Compensation and Talent Management that includes executive level searches New hire orientation and onboarding program Affirmative Action Plans (AAP) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Compliance Selected for the association's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) cross functional team Benefit and retirement cost reporting as part of total compensation Employee Relations and mentoring, coaching of HR staff and others where appropriate Performance management, working with managers/supervisors regarding staff Supervising, mentoring, and developing HR interns and other HR support staff Training and development recommendations based on association goals/objectives Employee Policy initiatives, research, and development Coordination of internship program – all ALA locations
