Project Management Team lead. I am currently a team leader for the major transportation CIP projects. However for the first year I also managed the CIP stormwater projects until the work load necessitated that another team leader was added. And for the first 3 years I managed all of the transportation projects. I currently have 3 project managers as direct reports, but I have had as many as 7. I direct their work by scheduling and reviewing their projects.. I work with our other partner agencies, (FDOT, City of Tampa, Plant City) to coordinate project issues. I have represented the County by giving presentations at ASCE and ASHE meetings. I have worked with my supervisor and other team members to develop goals and objectives for the CIP program. I work with our internal partners to assure that all permitting and regulatory issues are addressed. I currently serve as one of the court engineers for the major transportation projects. I work with legal staff to acquire right of way parcels.

As a project manager I am responsible for managing the projects assigned to me. I work with the schedulers to keep my projects on track and reduce negative float. I coordinate the scoping, longlisting, selections and negotiations for my projects. I keep track of the project budgets and prepare supplements and task assignments when necessary. I schedule and attend public meetings for my projects. I prepare draft letters for the Director or Secretary to send to the public or government representatives. I prepare the mail packages for my projects. Once the project is let I work with construction while the road is being built to address any issues that arise. I work with my consultants to assure that their questions are answered in a timely manner. I review my initial documents and plans in conjunction with the official submittals. I work as a deputy PM to assist with design build projects in addition to my other duties. I also have my own design build project that I am managing. I help coordinate meetings, schedules and budgets to assure that the projects stay on track. I am currently working as part of a team for the Tampa Bay Express. I am currently responsible for tracking the commitments and assisting other team members in whatever needs arise

As the roadway production manager my primary responsibility is for scheduling and managing the work for three in-house teams and managing the budgets for the projects. I review roadway documents and coordinate with consultants to assure technical issues are addressed. I assist in the coordination with the other disciplines as well as for other local agencies. I am the district pavement design engineer and I review all pavement designs as well as coordinate with Bartow and Gainesville to obtain coring reports and dynamic deflection reports to be used for the preparation of pavement designs. I work with the LAP (Local agency program) group and government liaisons to review plans and coordinate. I sit on OTPs (oral Technical Presentations) to help select consultants to perform work. I work with the scoping group to assure consistent scope language as well as negotiate and approve staff hours. I work with the Department’s PIO (Public Information Office) to provide timely responses to citizen concerns.

As a project manager I was responsible for managing the projects assigned to me. I tracked the schedules and the budgets. For projects with right-of-way activities, I tracked the right-of-way process. I coordinated with all disciplines to assure that all of the elements of the plans were incorporated correctly. I assisted in the preparation of the initial scoping process and final scopes. I was part of the selection team to choose a consultant for my projects. I was responsible for coordinating the negotiation process for staff hours and expenses tracked submittals and scheduled field reviews. I scheduled and attended any public meetings on my projects. I responded to public phone calls, letters and E-mails concerning my projects. I prepared the mail packages to send the plans to Tallahassee for letting. I worked with construction after letting to address any issues that arise while the road is being built.

I worked in the Roadway Design Group. I was responsible for managing the CES (cost estimating system) and LRE (Long Range Estimates) system for District 7. I reviewed plans and estimates to assure that quantities were correct and that correct pay item numbers were used. I coordinated with Central Office personnel when pay item information needed to be corrected. I assisted with the yearly work program cycle. I went to instructor training and provided CES and LRE training to consultants when necessary.

I worked in the roadway group preparing and managing projects. I used Microstation and geopack to prepare all elements of the plan set. I created and reviewed pavement designs. I prepared quantities, comp. books and estimates. I managed my schedules and budgets. I supervised CADD technicians working on my projects and coordinated their work. I coordinated with FDOT project managers and personnel to assure that comments were address and schedules met. I also worked on different County projects and several airport projects.

For the first four years I worked in the GEC group. At that time Dist. 7 had limited personnel. HDR was managing the projects for Pinellas County. I worked to track schedules and plan reviews. I was responsible for coordinating responses from other disciplines as well as reviewing the plans myself. I assisted in assuring that plan submittals were complete. For the last 3 years I worked in the Roadway group. I was primarily responsible for maintenance of traffic plans, signing and pavement marking, and signalization plans. I created the plan sheets using microstation and geopack. I also prepared the quantities.
