People oriented and education cheerleader! I have spent the majority of my professional career assisting students in achieving their academic/professional goals. This experience only deepens my belief and commitment to education. I am grateful that students allow me the opportunity to go on their educational journey with them. My current role allows me to assist professional adults in achieving their higher education goals. Often the first interaction begins with a program presentation at an information fair, followed by an individual discussion either in person, phone or email. I quickly become the liaison to the college campus for the professional distance students who have been away from the academic environment. My goal is to know all the students by name after the first class so they are comfortable to discuss the tiniest details of their education victories and challenges with me. It is through student discussions that processes are improved. Approximately 12 credit hours of my MS coursework were in the counseling arena and it has helped me become an effective communicator and advocate for all students seeking higher education. The remaining hours in instructional design have taught me organization, the importance of acknowledging learning-styles and attention to detail. My personal education continues as I learn every day even though it may not be in a traditional classroom.Specialties: Communication, event planning, training development, problem-solving
