Nominated for an Emmy as the host of the Fox Sports Net show Dig and the Directv Sports Mix, thevibrant and dynamic Mary Strong discovered her love for broadcasting while working at herUniversity radio station. Not long after graduating, her career in television journalism took off. Shetraveled the country working for NBC and CNN.Strong was a NCAA Division I scholarship volleyball player at Loyola Marymount University, played professionally on the AVP Pro-Beach Volleyball Tour, ranking top 20, and was inducted into the Notre Dame High School Hall of Fame for her outstanding achievements in volleyball. After working in news for a number of years, she combined her love for sports with her passion for storytelling by becoming a sports broadcaster for Fox Sports Net and NFL Network.Strong’s extensive journalistic experience has garnered her an Edward R. Morrow Award for herwork in continuous LIVE news coverage both as a field reporter and anchor. She was one of the firstwomen in sports, covering PAC-10 football, AVP pro-beach volleyball and Poker for Fox Sports Net.She later joined NFL Network anchoring LIVE news coverage for “NFL Network Now” and "TotalAccess." Strong covered the Poker Championships for NBC Sports and traveled with theInternational Pool Tour as a sideline reporter. She has also hosted various shows for The GameShow Network and Outdoor Life Network, and helped launch the Directv Sports Mix for Directv’sinnovative Mix channels.Throughout her broadcasting career, Strong taught yoga as a way to give back to her community. In early 2009, after a deep meditation, Strong had a powerful vison that she owned a yoga studio called The Green Yogi, and parlayed that vision into reality. She opened two studio locations in Manhattan Beach and Berkeley, California and also launched thegreenyogi.com, a global yoga-on-demand website. Strong was voted “Top 20 Yoga Instructors in Los Angeles” and won 9 "Best Yoga Studio" awards.
