I have been assigned to Roosevelt High School for the last 18 years. Currently, I am assigned to a self- contained classroom. The self-contained classes are departmentalized and I am the math instructor. I teach Consumer Math, Integrated Algebra and Geometry. Previously, I have been assigned to middle school self-contained classes teaching science and math and also assigned to high school math inclusion classes as well as health, earth science and environmental science. I am responsible for New York State Curriculum, Core Curriculum, collaborating with the mathematics department, implementing IEP's, creating IEP's, reviewing and adjusting IEP's when progress is not obtained, reporting progress of goals, preparing students for state test, classroom management and parental contact. I utilize scaffolding, behavior modification, differential instruction, technology and task analysis in my instruction. I use a variety of modalities in my lessons. I incorporate collaborate learning by incorporating group activities into student's learning experiences.

I was assigned to the summer program as a special education teacher. I was responsible for implementing IEP's and reporting progress on goals.

For first five years, i was assigned as a teacher aide in the classroom where I assisted teachers in academics relating to IEP's. my last three years, I was assigned as the time out person. My duties were to assist students in crisis to overcome stress, anger or inappropriate behavior and return them to the classroom setting.
