A combination of moves, children, and employment contracts ending lead to a break from the workplace and a deeper focus on my career as a mom . However, while I no longer wake up and head to a traditional office, my hours are extended to 24/7 and my office is currently wherever I am. The term "break" is far from my current experience. Instead, I've developed new skills and enhanced existing ones. Negotiation, educational curriculum planning and execution, deriving answers from context clues, and multitasking are just a small few skills used on a daily basis. The household roles of caregiver, disciplinarian, chef, doctor, housekeeper, and educator have kept me occupied and challenged over the past year, but I look forward to continuing to grow with my newfound talents as I return to the workforce.
