Since entering the world of K - 12 education, I have been employed as a special education teacher with an emphasis on reading instruction, a special education department chair at the high school level, and am currently a program specialist through the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) at VCU's Training and Technical Center (TTAC). I am committed to improving the success of students with disabilities through the staff that provides services. I work in both rural and urban districts to deliver various initiatives to include inclusive practices, co-teaching, coaching, and the implementation of various reading approaches and programs. I have achieved success in working with teachers to improve and grow in their practice.
