My name is Maryam Pasha, I help take some of the world's biggest, most challenging, complex and important ideas and transform them into high-impact stories.I work with billionaire philanthropists, award-winning academics, business leaders, activists, and students: anyone who wants to tell better stories, and tell stories better.Over the past 10 years, the speakers I have supported have been heard by tens of millions of people, helped changed the law in England, Wales and Norway to protect girls from child marriage and raised over $1.2 billion to fight climate change. I have been curating TEDx events for over 12 years, from founding TEDxEastEnd to taking over the TEDxLondon licence and starting TEDxLondonWomen in 2018. As Director, Curator and speaker coach for TEDxLondon, 12 of the talks that I have supported have been promoted to TED.com and gained over 17 million views.I’m a Visiting Fellow at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at University of Oxford, where I lead their work on impact storytelling. And I run my own storytelling consultancy to support individuals and organisations, X Equals.I’m passionate about supporting a new wave of leaders to communicate new ideas with the impact required to bring about systemic change – within organisations – and the world. CurrentTEDxLondon’s first podcast - Climate Curious - is aimed at people who care about the world but haven’t found their places in the climate movement. I am responsible for determining the thematic direction for the podcast, researching, securing and briefing all speakers, as well as co-hosting.Over 4 seasons we’ve had over 750,000 downloads, averaging 25,000 downloads per episode this season and currently our episodes are featured weekly on Spotify’s ‘Your Daily Drive’ playlist.

CurrentTaking over the TEDxLondon license in 2017 involved re-launching the event with a renewed mission and strong core values that directed our content. In 2018 we launched TEDxLondonWomen and in 2020 we were awarded by TED one of 9 legacy licenses that recognized that we had “built an iconic civic institution that is a vital part of your city and community. Through your resilience, innovation, and excellence in curation, you are a shining example of the best of TEDx.”Over this time I have been responsible for setting the thematic direction for the organization, including leading our curation team, securing speakers, in-depth speaker coaching and support and co-hosting our live events. In the past 12 months, I’ve also been working closely with our Impact Director to track the impact of our talks, work with speakers to design impact activities and bring an impact lens to our curation process.
