About Maryam Shariat Mudrick (She - Her)

Hi, my name is Maryam Shariat, I’m a native Californian living in Astoria, NY. I have a personal fondness for live music, lavish dinners cooked at home, and getting creative with anything I can get my hands on, and a professional fondness for creating immersive culture and experiences, finding innovative ways to connect customer (however you may define it) to purpose through meaningful communications, and building partnerships with anyone who shares my belief that doing some good in the world is a necessary component of any complete definition of success. What is true about the favorite part of every job I have ever had is my passion for and ability to build unique and meaningful experiences for my audience and to distill the core message into clear and simple thought. I am interested in roles that will allow me to connect directly to customers/clients/community members and bring innovative and unique experiences to them through compelling communications and creative marketing while ultimately delivering on the multiple bottom line for people, society, and the organization.I have, among other things, led branding initiatives for internal programming to engage employees in volunteering, designed and executed multi-day learning experiences for nonprofit leaders, and executed customer-facing campaigns for multi-national brands. Now, I started MoreFul.ly out of the desire to help organizations take what they're doing through communications, events and stakeholder engagement, and do it more fully. I'm always eager to support organizations in their pursuit to bring people, purpose, programs and products into greater alignment. Please reach out and let's explore how we can do more, together.

Astoria Mutual Aid Network Mar 2020 - Present
    New York City Metropolitan Area
In March 2020, facing the total elimination of my consulting portfolio (not a lot of live programming to plan during COVID) I Co-Founded the Astoria Mutual Aid Network, a grassroots response to the COVID-19 pandemic's effects on the Queens community in New York. In its first year this group has evolved into a community-incubator initiating projects such as providing immediate relief for food and household needs to neighbors impacted by COVID, community care for vulnerable neighbors, broader community-building efforts such as support for frontline workers, refreshments for neighbors in line during early voting, food relief en masse, and more. We strive to operate in a horizontal manner and empower every member of our community to engage their neighbors in efforts important to them. Our community is now over 1,500 members and we have been able to raise and redistribute nearly $200,000 to our community. In an ongoing capacity I am primarily responsibile for the financial management and oversight of the organization, and actively participate in our strategic organizing work as well as hands-on community building efforts.
