Born and bred in Dublin, Ireland I moved to the UK over 20 years ago, though apparently I still haven't lost my Irish accent. I established The Sleep Works (previously Child Sleep Works) in 2010,, helping families with their children’s sleep. Having had a baby who didn't sleep well, I understood first-hand how a lack of sleep can impact on the whole family. I became so caught up in sleep, or lack of, I decided to train as a certified child sleep consultant and I then spent over a decade helping tired families get much needed and welcome sleep. Having had my own personal journey with sleep over the years, starting with chronic fatigue as a young adult, followed by parenting, cancer, and menopause, my interest turned to adults sleep. So in 2015, I completed a comprehensive Integrative Adult Sleep Coach Certification programme and trained with the NHS in CBT for Insomnia (CBTi) which is now considered the gold standard treatment for insomnia. I am passionate in motivating and supporting people to face and tackle their sleep problems. I develop personalised sleep plans for my clients and facilitate insomnia group programmes, incorporating many of the evidence-based principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia. The key to success for individuals to improve their sleep patterns is encouragement and accountability and I offer this in abundance.I also offer customised programmes of webinars, workshops and sleep clinics to organisations, covering all aspects relating to sleep and wellbeing.
